Hello, and welcome. I am Noecoco.
Thank you so much for finding your way to this space. This is a place where I would like to share with you the thoughts and experiences I have gathered through my journey in life.
Throughout my career, I have explored the art of food as a professional Pastry and Culinary Chef in the U.S., and mastered the aesthetics of space as a certified Master of Ikebana. Furthermore, while completing a 400-hour curriculum to become a Japanese language teacher, I became deeply fascinated by the delicate beauty and profound depth hidden within the Japanese language.
If you look at my professional background, it might seem as though I have followed a conventional career path. However, the truth is that I have dedicated myself to mastering the techniques and wisdom within these fields, transforming them into the foundation of my life's work.
Beyond these pursuits, I am simply a person—a mother who has struggled through the challenges of raising a child abroad and who is still currently navigating a difficult international legal battle regarding divorce. Now, in what I call my "middle age" years, I have gained the wisdom to realize that life isn't just about moving forward with intensity. I have learned the importance of pausing, and the necessity of treating oneself with care and gentleness.
When I was at my most exhausted, both mentally and physically, it was the small, everyday rituals that anchored me: taking a deep breath in a soothing onsen (hot spring), preparing a thoughtful meal with seasonal ingredients, or calming my heart by arranging a single flower. These small acts were my sanctuary, gently holding my heart together during the toughest times.
Since returning to Japan, I see so many visitors from around the world. Seeing their confusion regarding our customs and culture reminds me of my own experiences living abroad. I started this platform with a simple hope: if I can explain the traditions, the etiquette, and the delicate intentions behind the Japanese language in a gentle, accessible way, I can help people truly fall in love with Japan.
I want to share with you not only my professional expertise but also the wisdom I’ve gained through my own personal trials.
My knowledge as an Onsen Sommelier, my professional culinary techniques, and the "aesthetics of subtraction" I learned through Ikebana—these are all tools I hope to use to support you in living a more heart-centered and mindful life.
Beyond that, I also aim to share real-time trends and practical, helpful information from Japan today, curated through my own unique lens.
Whether you are enjoying your travels in Japan or have returned to your home country, I hope you find the wisdom on this site useful in your daily life. My wish is to be your partner, helping you live authentically and peacefully, no matter where you are in the world.
パティシエ・シェフ:夢を追い、美と食を追求する
I have dedicated myself to mastering the culinary arts, driven by a dream of creating my own space for fine food. Fascinated by the "edible art" of pastry, I have honed the delicate Japanese palate in pursuit of flavors that bring out smiles. Furthermore, from a chef's perspective, I explore international cuisines and the balance of nutrition to enhance daily life. Based on my journey and passion for the culinary arts, I introduce carefully selected flavors and tools that meet professional standards, helping you bring authentic quality into your own kitchen.
Through Kadō (Japanese flower arrangement), I learned the beauty of empty space and a profound respect for nature. The art of highlighting the strength of a single flower is at the core of everything I do. I aim to propose traditional Japanese aesthetics in a way that resonates with modern lifestyles, helping you find peace and harmony in your everyday surroundings.
