When you're in a hurry but want to buy something you like, try speaking to the staff in Japanese! 

 "Know Before You Go" :ヒント案

• Plastic Bag Fee (袋の有料化): Almost all stores now charge a small fee (usually 3–5 yen) for plastic bags.

• The Tray System (カルトン): Place your money or card on the small tray provided at the register, rather than handing it directly to the staff.

• Point Cards (ポイントカード): Staff will almost always ask if you have a point card. You can simply say, "Arimasen" (I don't have one).
